Should there not be… | Brewer: Day 4 — A Wish Poem

alyssum flowers and bee
Sweet Alyssums

if there should be no open windows
if there should be no trees outside
if no longer there be birds to sing
or owls fly on whispering wings
shadows across the summer moon

if there should be no seed or harvest
or no steps or songs or windows
due to blindness, plague or pain

inward I will turn my vision
walking through past years of flowers
smelling sweet perfumes and pollens
hum and dance with dreaming bees
until all fades…or we are one
