a whisper

the world is silenced
nothing can be heard above
voices of the storm

endless
despairing
the ocean waves
seek their vanished shores

sacred space
emptied of echoes
no last song

Oddly, I don’t seem to have an image to go with this. It’s late at night, once again, and again I am at my keyboard, the dogs at the foot of the bed. I like this time of the night because everything around me has come to rest…except for me. I appreciate the quiet.

Good night!

thoughts and second thoughts
present themselves past midnight
choices made in haste

words spoken and unspoken
might swap places if they could

Anticipating autumn | RonovanWrites Haiku Weekly Challenge, Prompt 317 Eye+Light

Ah, just one more for this week’s prompt words…

Ronovan Writes #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge 317 Eye&Light

cool sunrise colors weave
a pattern of soft light
gentle to my eye

a faint mist blankets branches
brushes newly frost-bit leaves
