Oddly, I don’t seem to have an image to go with this. It’s late at night, once again, and again I am at my keyboard, the dogs at the foot of the bed. I like this time of the night because everything around me has come to rest…except for me. I appreciate the quiet.

Good night!

thoughts and second thoughts
present themselves past midnight
choices made in haste

words spoken and unspoken
might swap places if they could

wills-o’-the-wisp float
through the damp and misty air
searching out pathways…
sights that you don’t want to see
tracks down which you should not go

ripple of receding waves
echoing of stars
the Milky Way is mirrored

night sky, clouded moon, deserted shoreline

the moon’s light dwindles
as winds shepherd rain-filled clouds

blades of grass emerge…nearby
violets unfold

freezing nights and gentle rain
the nurture of day’s sunlight
